"HOLWELL, a parish in the hundred of CLIFTON,
county of BEDFORD, 3 miles (N. W. by N.) from Hitchin,
containing 179 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in
the archdeaconry of Bedford, and diocese of Lincoln,
rated in the king's books at £7. 9. 7 - Radcliff, Esq.
was patron in 1810."
