"MELDRETH, a parish in the hundred of ARMINGFORD,
county of CAMBRIDGE, 5 miles (N. N. E.) from
Royston, containing 643 inhabitants. The living is a
discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of
Ely, rated in the king's books at £4. 15. 10., and in the
patronage of the Dean and Chapter of Ely. The church
is dedicated to the Holy Trinity."
