"SHEPRETH, a parish in the hundred of WETHERLEY,
county of CAMBRIDGE, 5 miles (N. by W.) from
Royston, containing 320 inhabitants. The living is a
discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of
Ely, rated in the king's books at £6. 11. 1., and in the
patronage of Hale Wortham, Esq. The church is dedicated
to All Saints. The river Cam runs through the
parish."
