This Chapel
Was rebuilt and enlarged in the Year 1841
by a Rate of 200 pounds by contribu-
tions from the Owners of the Soil
by a grant from the Chapter of Durham
and by a Subscription froml the Vicar
and from many other persons.
It accomodates 200 person; and in
consequence of a Grant from the In-
coroporated Society for promoting the
enlargement building, and repairing
of Churches and Chapels 125 of that
number are declared to be free, and
unapprpriated for ever, The provision
of Church room previously to the
rebuilding was for 75 persons, including
30 free seats.

This Chapel was consecrated by the
Lord Bishop of Ripon on Thursday Augst. 8th, 1844.
