BURTON PIDSEA:
Geographical and Historical information from the year 1835.

"BURTON PIDSEA, a parish partly in the liberty of ST-PETER-of-YORK, and partly in the middle division of the wapentake of HOLDERNESS, East riding of the county of YORK, llf miles N.E. from Kingston upon Hull, containing 378 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, -within the peculiar jurisdiction and patronage of the Dean and Chapter of York, rated in the king's books at £6, endowed with £200 royal bounty, and £200 parliamentary grant. The church is principally in the later style of English architecture. There is a plade of worship for Wesleyan Methodists. The village is situated on rising ground, whence there is an extensive prospect of the surrounding country."
