CHERRY BURTON:
Geographical and Historical information from the year 1868.

"CHERRY BURTON, a parish in the Hunsley Beacon division of the wapentake of Harthill, in the East Riding of the county of York, 3 miles to the N.W. of Beverley, its post town. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of York, of the annual value of £887, in the patronage of the Rev. H. Ramsden. The church is dedicated to St. Michael The charitable endowments are of trifling amount. Cherry-Burton Hall, an old mansion with an embattled front, was probably erected in the reign of James I."
