KIRK ELLA:
Geographical and Historical information from the year 1834.

"KIRK ELLA, is a parish in the county of Kingston upon Hull, the village being situated about 5 miles w.n.w. from Hull, and is the residence of many of the merchants of that town. The church, dedicated to St. Andrew, is a very ancient structure; the living is a vicarage, of which the Rev. W.J. Wilkinson is the incumbent. The parish contained, by the last census, 974 inhabitants, and the townships of Kirk Ella and West Ella, 387 of that number.

"ANLABY, is a village and township in the county and town of Kingston upon Hull, partly in the parishes of Hessle and Kirk Ella, 4 miles w. of Hull, containing, by the last census, 398 inhabitants."
