THORNGUMBALD.*
(CONGREGATIONAL.)
The church here was founded 1799. After its formation it was for a time under the ministry of Rev. John Morley, till he removed to Hull, 1801.
In that year a chapel was built. Among the ministers since that time have been:-
- Rev. -- STEPHENSON, who was here in 1815, and
- Rev. R. KIRKUS, who was here in 1833.
- The present minister (in 1868) is Rev. W. BETTINSON.
