"RUSTON PARVA, (or Little Ruston), a parish in the wapentake of Dickering, East Riding county York, 4 miles N.E. of Driffield, its post town. The village, which is of small extent, is situated in a valley, and is wholly agricultural. Limestone is abundant, and great quantities are annually burnt into lime for the supply of the adjacent district. The tithes were commuted for land in 1801. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of York, value £51. The church, dedicated to All Saints, has a bell turret containing two bells. The church was rebuilt in 1832. The Wesleyans have a place of worship. W. H. Quinton, Esq., is lord of the manor."
