WILLERBY:
Geographical and Historical information from the year 1835.

"WILLERBY, a parish in the wapentake of DICKERING, East riding of the county of YORK, comprising the townships of Binnington, Staxton, and Willerby and containing 297 inhabitants, of which number, 34 are in the township of Willerby, 7 miles S.S.W. from Scarborough. The living is a discharged Vicarage, in the archdeaconry of the East riding, and diocese of York, rated in the king's books at £9. 0. 7v and in the patronage of the Crown. The church is dedicated to St. Peter."

"STAXTON, a township in the parish of WILLERBY, wapentake of DICKERING, East riding of the county of YORK, 6 miles S.W. from Scarborough, containing- 213 inhabitants. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists."
