Area, 4,300 acres. Gilling East wapentake. -Population, 806 *1; Church-room, 300; Net value, £200.

The advowson formerly belonged to the Lords Scrope, of Massam.

Patron and impropriator, the Crown.

An Inclosure Act for Thirncroft was passed 28th Geo. III.

Valued in the King's Books, at £13. 6s. 8d.

The glebe house is fit for residence.

The Register Books commence in 1668.

Charities:
Scott's dole, 20s. per annum out of a farm in the township of Warlaby, belonging to Mr. Thomas Booth.
