The place:
A parish in the wapentake of Gilling West; 3 miles from Richmond, 5 from
Catterick, 8½ from Gretabridge, 47 from York. Population 921. The Church is
a vicarage, dedicated to St. Agatha, in the deanery of Richmond, diocese of
Chester.
