The place:
A parish in the wapentake of Gilling East; 5 miles from Darlington (Co.
Durham), 9 from Richmond, 47 from York. Population 440. The Church is a
vicarage, dedicated to All Saints, in the deanery of Richmond, diocese of
Chester.
