The Benefactions of Elizabeth Elsley in St. Patrick's Church, Patrick Brompton.


BENEFACTIONS

Elizabeth Elsley of Skipton Bridge, Spinster, who died on the 23rd day of May 1858, Did by her Will dated the 21st day of July in the Year of our Lord 1851 make the following bequest.

Whereas Mary the relict of my late Uncle Gregory Elsley Esquire, did give unto me One Hundred Pounds, to be added after my decease to certain Charities to the Poor of Patrick Brompton and Newton-le-Willows in the Parish of Patrick Brompton.

Now I give and bequeath unto my Executors upon trust, the Sum of Three Hundred Pounds, which with the aforesaid sum of One Hundred Pounds making together Four Hundred Pounds, to place out the same Four Hundred Pounds upon Landed or Government Security; and to pay the Annual proceeds unto the Officiating Minister for the time being of the Parish Church of Patrick Brompton aforesaid to be by him applied in equal shares to the most necessitious of the Poor of Patrick Brompton and of Newton in the Willows in the purchase of Coal or other Fuel.

In Pursuance of the above directions the Executors of the said Elizabeth Elsley have caused the sum of Four Hundred Pounds sterling to be invested in the purchase of the sum of Four Hundred and Seven Pounds Twelve Shillings and Eleven Pence Consolidated 3 L per Centum Annuities and transferred to the name of the Official Trustees of Charitable Funds - pursuant to the provisions of the Charitable Trusts - Amendment Act 1855.

The Dividends of the said sum of £407. 12s. 11d. free from Income Tax will be remitted to the Officiating Minister for the time being of Patrick Brompton annualy in July to be by him applied in accordance with the Trusts.
