SEAMER:
Geographical and Historical information from the year 1829.

"SEAMER, an agricultural village in the parish of its name, four miles from Scarborough, on the road to Driffield, and is important chiefly for the great fair held on the 15th of July. There is also a market held the first Monday in every month, for cattle and sheep. The parish contained, in 1821, 1,034 inhabitants, and the town. ship 596 of that number."
