The place:

A parish in the wapentake of Bulmer; 7 miles from York, 12 from Malton, 14 from Easingwold. Population 63. The Church, previously in the peculiar jurisdiction of St. Leonard's Hospital, is a rectory, dedicated to St. Peter, in the deanery of Bulmer.
