The place:
A parish in the wapentake of Pickering Lythe; 7 miles from Scarborough, 11
from Pickering, 15 from Malton, 33 from York. Population 582. The Church,
a donative, is a rectory, dedicated to All Saints, in the deanery of Rydale.
