List of Benefactions
William Fawcett of Upton in the Parish of Westham. co. Essex, Gent by will dated 27 Apr 1630, subjected Upper Hesleden wh he had in mortge for £630, to the payment of £18.6.8; four pounds of wh. to be given to the poor persons of Littondale.
This mortgage was released by the inhabitants of the Dale head by deed dated 3d Feby 1651 in consideration of part of the estate, which part is now let for £24.
Elizabeth Topsfield, late widow of William Fawcett, in 1658 left £3 for a sermon on the 29th day of Mar and £2 for waistcoats, 50 shillings of wh. is a rent charge upon a field of Mr. Dawsons called Stephenfield;
A close at Lodge in the township of Settle called Lings close and some small rents in Settle.
