CONISBROUGH:
Geographical and Historical information from the year 1750.

"CONISBROUGH, (given as "CONISBURGH") a parish in the West Riding of Yorkshire, on the S.W. side of Doncaster, has the outwalls of an old castle, to which Hengist, the Saxon general, is said to have retired, after being routed by Aurelius Ambrosius; and near which, it is also said, he was buried."
