FIRBECK:
Geographical and Historical information from the year 1835.

"FIRBECK, a parish partly in the liberty of ST-PETER-OF-YORK, and partly in the southern division of the wapentake of STRAFFORTH-AND-TICKHILL, West riding of the county of YORK, 4 miles S.S.W. from Tickhill, containing 226 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry and diocese of York, endowed with £ 1200 royal bounty, and in the peculiar jurisdiction and patronage of the Chancellor in the Cathedral Church of York. The church, dedicated to St. Peter, has lately received an addition of one hundred and fourteen free sittings, the Incorporated Society for the enlargement of churches and chapels having granted £ 120 towards defraying the expense."
