GOLDSBOROUGH:
Geographical and Historical information from the year 1835.

"GOLDSBOROUGH, a parish in the upper division of the wapentake of CLARO, West riding of the county of YORK, comprising the townships of Coneythorp, Flaxby, and Goldsborough, and containing 385 inhabitants, of which number, 195 are in the township of Goldsborough, 2 miles E.S.E. from Knaresborough. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Richmond, and diocese of Chester, rated in the king's books at £10. 1. 0. The Earl of Harewood was patron in 1803. The church is dedicated to St. Mary."


"CONEYTHORPE, a township in the parish of GOLDSBOROUGH, upper division of the wapentake of CLARO, West riding of the county of York, 4 miles E.N.E. from Knaresborough, containing 112 inhabitants."


"FLAXBY, a township in the parish of GOLDSBOROUGH, upper division of the wapentake of CLARO, West riding of the county of YORK, 3 miles N.E. from Knaresborough, containing 78 inhabitants. There is a free school endowed with about £ 15 a year."
