"HOOTON ROBERTS, (given as HOOTON-LOVET, PAINEL, and ROBERT) a parish in the West Riding of Yorkshire, are three villages bet. Barnsley and Doncaster, so called from their several ancient Lds. Hooton-Painel afterwards came to the Nevils, and Hooton-Robert fell by marriage to Wentworth of Wentworth-Woodhouse, and was a seat of the late Ld. Malton."
