The place:

A Chapelry in the township of Low Harrogate, and parish of Pannall, lower division of Claro, Liberty of Knaresborough; ½ mile from High Harrogate, 3½ miles from Knaresborough. Population 300 (in 1831). The Church is a perpetual curacy, dedicated to St. Mary, in the deanery of the Ainsty.
