WADWORTH:
Geographical and Historical information from the year 1835.

"WADWORTH, a parish in the southern division of the wapentake of STRAFFORTH-and-TICKHILL, West riding of the county of YORK, 5 miles S. from Doncaster, containing 614 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the peculiar jurisdiction of the Dean and Chapter of York, rated in the king's books at £4. 2. 6., endowed with £200 royal bounty, ann the patronage of the Impropriator of Wadworth. The church is dedicated to St. Mary. There is a place ofworship for Wesleyan Methodists."
