BENEFACTIONS TO THE

POOR OF WHIXLEY.

1784, Mrs. DOROTHY SUTTON, Relict of the late Mr. RICHARD SUTTON of Little Ouseburn, deceased, left the Sum of twenty pounds to the poor of Whixley, for ever : the Interest of which she ordered to be distributed amongst the industrious poor householders of Whixley, every Christmas, according to the discretion of the Minister and Churchwardens for the time being, excepting the Sum of two shillings and sixpence of the said Interest, which she ordered to be given to that young person, Boy or Girl, who shall best repeat the Church Catechism at Easter, the determination to be made by the Minister.
