• Note b - The Parishes of Bugthorpe, Fridaythorpe, and North Grimston are partly in the Liberty of St Peter of York.
• Note c - The Entire Parish of Heslerton contains 514 inhabitants and 6,170 acres.
• Note d - The Entire Parish of Kirby Grindalyth contains 414 inhabitants and 7,970 acres.
• Note e - The Parish of Kirby under Dale has experienced a decrease of Population (42 Persons) several Families having emigrated to America.
• Note f - The Entire Parish of Langton contains 341 inhabitants and 2,480 acres.
• Note g - The Return of the Parish of Norton includes the Townships of Norton, Sutton, and Welham, all of which in 1821 made distinct Returns; the Entire Parish contains 2,510 acres.
• Note h - The Entire Parish of Rillington contains 955 inhabitants and 5,300 acres.
• Note i - The Entire Parish of Scrayingham contains 522 inhabitants and 4,780 acres.
• Note k - The Entire Parish of Settrington contains 779 inhabitants and 5,540 acres.
• Note l - The Parish of Skirpenbeck is partly in the Liberty of St Peter of York.
• Note m - The Entire Parish of Weaverthorpe contains 753 inhabitants and 5,100 acres. The Township of Luttons-Ambo is partly in the Liberty of St Peter of York.
• Note n - The Entire Parish of Westow contains 606 inhabitants and 2,700 acres.
• Note o - The Entire Parish of Wetwang contains 621 inhabitants and 5,740 acres.
• Note p - The Entire Parish of Wharram Percy contains 330 inhabitants and 8,480 acres.
• Note q - The Entire Parish of Wintringham contains 589 inhabitants and 8,480 acres. The Township of Wintringham includes Linton and Newton.

• Note r - The Entire Parish of Bridlington or Burlington contains 5,673 inhabitants and 12,410 acres.
• Note s - The Entire Parish of Burton Agnes contains 653 inhabitants and 6,540 acres.
• Note t - The Entire Parish of Filey (which extends into Pickering Lythe Wapentake North Riding.) contains 1,192 inhabitants and 3,090 acres.
• Note u - The Entire Parish of Folkton contains 455 inhabitants and 5,040 acres.
• Note v - The Entire Parish of Foston upon Wolds contains 715 inhabitants and 4,560 acres.
• Note w - The Entire Parish of Foxholes contains 277 inhabitants and 4,150 acres.
• Note x - The Parishes of Garton upon the Wolds and Kilham are partly in the Liberty of St Peter of York.
• Note y - The Entire Parish of Langtoft contains 523 inhabitants and 5,900 acres. The Townships of Cottam and Langtoft are partly in the Liberty of St Peter of York.
• Note z - The Entire Parish of Nafferton contains 1,184 inhabitants and 5,130 acres.
• Note a - The Parish of Thwing includes Octon, Octon Grange and Wold Cottage.
• Note b - The Entire Parish of Willerby contains 356 inhabitants and 4,180 acres.
• Note c - The Entire Parish of Wold Newton contains 3,420 acres. Forder Township was separately returned in 1821.

• Note d - The Entire Parish of North Dalton contains 525 inhabitants and 4,850 acres.
• Note e - The Entire Parish of Driffield contains 2,854 inhabitants and 7,520 acres. The Townships of Great and Little Driffield are partly in the Liberty of St Peter of York.
• Note f - The Entire Parish of Hutton Cranswick contains 1,118 inhabitants and 6,230 acres.
• Note g - The Entire Parish of Kilnwick contains 581 inhabitants and more than 3,990 acres; the entire Area of Lockington Township being ascribed to Lockington Parish.
• Note h - The Entire Parish of Kirk Burn contains 489 inhabitants and 6,320 acres.
• Note i - The Entire Parish of Lockington contains 475 inhabitants and less than 3,200 acres; the entire Area of Lockington Township (which is partly in Kilnwick Parish) being here included. Aike Township is partly in St John's Parish Beverley, and there entered.

• Note k - The Entire Parish of Aughton contains 665 inhabitants and 4,200 acres. The Township of Aughton has decreased in Population (52 Persons) attributed to emigration.
• Note l - The area of Brindleys Extra Parochial is not distinguishable. Being 1 house with 1 male & 1 female.
• Note m - The Entire Parish of Bubwith contains 1,385 inhabitants and 10,460 acres; this Parish has experienced a decrease in Population (70 Persons) attributed to emigration. The Township of Bubwith is partly within the jurisdiction of St Peter of York.
• Note n - The Parishes of Goodmanham and Holme upon Spalding Moor are partly in the Liberty of St Peter of York.
• Note o - The Entire Parish of Hayton contains 434 inhabitants and 2,980 acres.
• Note p - The Return of the Parish of Londesborough includes East Thorpe.
• Note q - The Entire Parish of Nun Burnholme (which is mostly in Wilton Beacon Division) contains 253 inhabitants and 2,120 acres.
• Note r - The Entire Parish of Thornton (which extends into Wilton Beacon Division) contains 791 inhabitants and 6,660 acres.
• Note s - The Entire Parish of Market Weighton contains 2,169 inhabitants and 7,570 acres. This Parish is partly in the Liberty of St Peter of York.
• Note t - The Entire Parish of Wressel contains 386 inhabitants 3,040 and acres.

• Note u - The Entire Parish of Brantingham (which is mostly in Howdenshire Wapentake) contains 468 inhabitants and 3,040 acres.
• Note v - The Entire Parish of North Cave contains 1,000 inhabitants and 6,360 acres. This Parish has experienced a decrease of Population (91 Persons) attributed to emigration.
• Note w - The Entire Parish of South Cave contains 1,200 inhabitants and 7,480 acres. This Parish is partly in the Liberty of St Peter of York, and the Township of Faxfleet was heretofore so entered.
• Note x - The Parish of Cottingham contains part of Willerby Township (County part of Kingston upon Hull)
• Note y - The Parish of Elloughton is partly in the Liberty of St Peter of York. Several families have emigrated to America hence the decrease of Population (28 Persons)
• Note z - The Parish of Newbald is in the Liberty of St Peter of York, and was heretofore so entered: the Entire Parish contains 769 inhabitants and 5,450 acres.
• Note a - The Entire Parish of Rowley contains 501 inhabitants and 7,440 acres.
• Note b - The Entire Parish of Sancton and Houghton contains 462 inhabitants and 4,890 acres.
• Note c - The Parish of Sculcoates may be considered a suburb of Kingston upon Hull, which will account for the increase of
• Population (3,079 Persons); and here it may be necessary to observe, that, for the sake of Comparison with other large towns, the Males employed in Retail Trade or Handicraft, in the Parish of Sculcoates, are included in the Specification of Trades for the Town of Hull, at the end of the County; 460 Mariners belonging to registered Vessels (whose families are returned in the Third Class of Occupations) are properly excluded from the Return. Note d - The Entire Parish of Walkington (which is mostly in Howdenshire Wapentake where the whole area is entered) contains 558 inhabitants.

• Note e - The Entire Parish of Allerthorpe contains 185 inhabitants and 2,050 acres. Allerthorpe Township is partly in the jurisdiction of St Peter of York.
• Note f - The Parish of Barmby on the Moor is in the Liberty of St Peter of York and was heretofore so entered.
• Note g - The Parish of Bishop Wilton is partly in the Liberty of St Peter of York: the Entire Parish contains 831 inhabitants and 7,280 acres.
• Note h - The Entire Parish of Catton (which extends into Ouze & Derwent Wapentake) contains 1,095 inhabitants and 8,150 acres. The Township of Stamford Bridge East is partly in the Liberty of St Peter of York.
• Note i - The Entire Parish of Gwendale contains 78 inhabitants and 1,130 acres. This Parish is partly in the Liberty of St Peter of York.
• Note k - The Parish of Millington is partly in the Liberty of St Peter of York.
• Note l - The Entire Parish of Nun Burnholme (which extends into Holme Beacon Division) contains 253 inhabitants and 2,120 acres.
• Note m - The Entire Parish of Pocklington contains 2,265 inhabitants and 4,380 acres.
• Note n - The Entire Parish of Thornton (which is partly in Holme Beacon Division) contains 791 inhabitants and 6,660 acres.
• Note o - The Entire Parish of Wilberfoss contains 580 inhabitants and 2,870 acres. The Township of Newton upon Derwent has experienced a decrease of Population (33 Persons) attributed to the depression of Agriculture.

• Note p - The Entire Parish of Aldbrough contains 1,105 inhabitants and 5,240 acres; it extends into Cowdons Township, Mappleton Parish, North Holderness Wapentake, but the Population is not distinguished. The Return of the Township of Aldbrough includes Etherdwick, Tanston, Carlton, Fosham and Beswick.
• Note q - The Parish of Burton Pidsea is partly in the Liberty of St Peter of York.
• Note r - The Entire Parish of Drypool contains 2,935 inhabitants and 1,290 acres. Drypool being situated in the vicinity of Kingston upon Hull will account for the great increase of Population (728 Persons)
• Note s - The Entire Parish of Garton contains 297 inhabitants and 3,030 acres, including that part of Owstwick Township which is in Rooss Parish, and not being distinguished is entered as if wholly in Garton Parish.
• Note t - The Entire Parish of Humbleton contains 579 inhabitants and 6,110 acres.
• Note u - The Entire Parish of Owthorne (which is mostly in South Holderness Wapentake) contains 401 inhabitants and 3,810 acres.
• Note v - The Entire Parish of Preston contains 957 inhabitants and 5,110 acres. The Township of Preston is partly in the Liberty of St Peter of York.
• Note tt - The Parish of Sutton being contiguous to Kingston upon Hull, building has greatly increased, and with it the Population (725 Persons)
• Note uu - The Entire Parish of Swine (which extends into North Holderness Wapentake) contains 1,603 inhabitants and 13,530 acres.
• Not vv - The Parish of Tunstall is partly in the Liberty of St Peter of York.
• Note w - The Entire Parish of Waghen contains 338 inhabitants and 5,550 acres. The Township of Waghen is partly within the jurisdiction of St Peter of York.

• Note x - Hartburn and Hyde, formerly villages in North Holderness Wapentake, are said to have been washed away by the sea.
• Note y - The Parish of Atwick has decreased in Population (41 Persons) attributed to emigration to America.
• Note z - The Entire Parish of Beeford contains 894 inhabitants and 5,270 acres.
• Note a - The Entire Parish of Brandsburton contains 611 inhabitants and 3,140 acres.
• Note b - The Entire Parish of St John (which is mostly in the Borough of Beverley) contains 887 inhabitants and 8,280 acres.
• Note c - Upwards of 100 Persons have lately emigrated to America from Hornsea, notwithstanding which the Population is the same.
• Note d - The Entire Parish of Leven contains 771 inhabitants and 5,070 acres.
• Note e - The Entire Parish of Mappleton contains 473 inhabitants and 5,180 acres, including the whole of Cowdons Township, which is partly in Aldbrough Parish, Middle Division of Holderness Wapentake, and of Great Hatfield, which is partly in Sigglesthorne Parish. Mappleton with Rowlston Township is partly in the Liberty of St Peter of York.
• Note f - The Return of the Parish of Nunkeeling includes 29 Persons the inmates of a Lunatic Asylum.
• Note g - The Entire Parish of Sigglesthoren contains 578 inhabitants (besides those in Great Hatfield Township wholly attributed to Mappleton Parish) and 5,380 acres.
• Note h - The Entire Parish of Skipsea contains 726 inhabitants and 5,820 acres. Ulrome Chapelry extends into Barmston Parish, but is wholly entered here.
• Note i - The Entire Parish of Swine (which is mostly in the Middle Division of Holderness Wapentake) contains 1,603 inhabitants and 13,530 acres. The Return of Skirlaugh and Rowton Township includes part of Arnold Township; the other part of which is in Riston Parish, and the Population included accordingly.
• Note k - The Parish of Withernwick is partly in the Liberty of St Peter of York.

• Note l - The Entire Parish of Burstiwck or Skeeling, contains 699 inhabitants and 5,720 acres.
• Note m - The Entire Parish of Easington contains 542 inhabitants and 3,020 acres.
• Note n - The Entire Parish of Hollym contains 351 inhabitants and 3,350 acres.
• Note o - The Entire Parish of Owthorne (which extends into the Middle Division of Holderness Wapentake) contains 401 inhabitants and 3,810 acres.
• Note p - The Entire Parish of Paul contains 739 inhabitants and 5,020 acres.
• Note q - Sunk Island Extra Parochial was recovered from the Sea previously to 1811.

• Note r - The Entire Parish of Blacktoft contains 394 inhabitants and 2,730 acres. The Population of Cheapsides Extra Parochial was included in the Township of Scalby in 1821.
• Note s - The Entire Parish of Brantingham (which extends into the Hunsley Beacon Division of Harthill Wapentake) contains 468 inhabitants and 3,040 acres.
• Note t - The Entire Parish of Eastrington contains 1,676 inhabitants and 6,910 acres.
• Note u - The Entire Parish of Howden contains 4,531 inhabitants and 14,510 acres.
• Note v - The Entire Parish of Welton contains 8805 inhabitants and 2,380 acres.
• Note w - The Entire Parish of Walkington (which extends into the Hunsley Beacon Division of Harthill Wapentake) contains 558 inhabitants; the Area not being distinguishable is wholly entered here.

• Note x - The Entire Parish of Catton (which is partly in the Wilton Beacon Division of Harthill Wapentake) contains 1,095 inhabitants and 8,150 acres.
• Note y - The Entire Parish of Dunnington contains 713 inhabitants and 3,110 acres; the greater part of this Parish is in the Liberty of St Peter of York, and the whole Parish was heretofore so entered.
• Note z - The Entire Parish of Escrick contains 896 inhabitants and 6,400 acres.
• Note a - The Entire Parish of Fulford Ambo contains 934 inhabitants and 1,940 acres. The Return of Fulford Gate includes 100 Persons, inmates of a Lunatic Asylum. Fulford Water Township is partly within the Liberty of St Peter of York.
• Note b - The Entire Parish of Hemingbrough contains 1,806 inhabitants and 9,440 acres. This Parish has decreased in Population (94 Persons) a few of its inhabitants having emigrated to America.
• Note c - The Entire Parish of Heslington contains 536 inhabitants, it is partly in the Liberty of St Peter of York. St Paul was heretofore entered as Heslington Township within that Liberty. Heslington St Lawrence is mostly in the City of York.
• Note d - The Parish of Naburn is intermixed with Acaster Malbis in the Ainsty, and connected with St Dennis (City of York)
• Note dd - The Parish of Riccall is partly within the jurisdiction of St Peter of York.
• Note e - The Entire Parish of Skipwith contains 648 inhabitants and 5,590 acres. This Parish has decreased in Population (100 Persons) chiefly attributed to emigration to America.
• Note f - The Entire Parish of Stillingfleet (which is partly in the Ainsty of the City of York) contains 909 inhabitants and 5,820 acres; the Township of Stillingfleet with Moreby is partly in the Liberty of St Peter of York.
• Note g - The Entire Parish of Wheldrake contains 691 inhabitants and 5,010 acres. The Township of Langwith is in the Liberty of St Peter of York, and was heretofore so entered.

• Note a - The Parishes of St Cuthbert & St Giles are partly in Bulmer Wapentake, North Riding.
• Note b - Dringhouses Township is partly in the Parish of Holy Trinity Micklegate, and partly in the Parish of St Mary Bishophill Senior, where the whole Population is returned; it also extends into the Liberty of St Peter of York, and was heretofore so entered.
• Note c - The Parish of St Lawrence contains part of Heslington Township (or Heslington St Paul, Ouze & Derwent Wapentake) which is partly in the Liberty of St Peter of York. The Return of this Parish in 1821 included the Population of the Parish of St Nicholas
• Note d - The entire Parish of St Mary Bishophill Junior, which is partly in the Ainsty of the City of York, contains 2,171 inhabitants.
• Note e - The Parish of St Mary Bishophill Senior, is partly in the Ainsty and partly in the Liberty of St Peter of York. Dringhouses Township, partly in this Parish and partly in the Parish of Holy Trinity Micklegate, but now wholly returned in the Ainsty, was heretofore entered in the Liberty of St Peter of York. The Entire Parish of St Mary Bishophill Senior, thus contains 1,290 inhabitants.
• Note f - The Parish of St Michael le Belfry is partly in the Liberty of St Peter of York, this Parish claims part of the Townships which are entered as forming the Parish of St Mary Olave, Bulmer Wapentake in the North Riding.
• Note g - Minster Yard with Beddern is in the Liberty of St Peter of York,as was heretofore so entered.
• Note h - The Entire Parish of St Wilfred contains 443 inhabitants.

• Note b - The Entire Parish of Accomb contains 882 inhabitants and 2,330 acres.
• Note c - The Entire Parish of Bilton contains 894 inhabitants and 4,150 acres.
• Note d - The Entire Parish of Bolton Percy contains 993 inhabitants and 7,320 acres. The Township of Appleton Roebuck has decreased in Population (47 Persons) attributed to emigration to the United States.
• Note e - The Entire Parish of Kirk Hammerton (which extends into Claro Wapentake, WEst Riding) contains 382 inhabitants and 2,190 acres.
• Note f - The Entire Parish of Long Marston contains 584 inhabitants and 4,260 acres.
• Note g - The Parish of St Mary Bishophill Senior is mostly in York City, partly in the Liberty of St Peter of York. Dringhouses extends into the Parish of Holy Trinity Micklegate, in York City, it is also partly in the Liberty of St Peter of York, where it was heretofre entered. The Entire Parish of St Mary Bishophill Senior, including the whole Population of Dringhouses, contains 1,290 inhabitants.
• Note h - The Entire Parish of St Mary Bishophill Junior (which is partly in the City of York) contains 2,171 inhabitants.
• Note i - The Entire Parish of Moor Monkton contains 484 inhabitants and 4,230 acres.
• Note k - The Entire Parish of Stillingfleet (which is mostly in Ouze & Derwent Wapentake) contains 909 inhabitants and 5,820 acres.
• Note l - The Parish of Tadcaster is mostly in Barkstone Ash Wapentake (West Riding). The Entire Parish contains 2,885 inhabitants and 6,100 acres.

• Note h - The Entire Parish of St John (which extends into the North Division of Holderness Wapentake) contains 887 inhabitants and 8,280 acres. The Township of Aike is partly in Lockington Parish (Bainton Beacon Division of Harthill Wapentake) and is entered accordingly.

• Note i - Humber Ward, North Ward, and White Fryers, are partly in the Parish of St Mary, partly in that of Holy Trinity but the whole are here included in Holy Trinity Parish, which thus contains 29,687 inhabitants. The Parish of Sculcoates, entered in the Hunsley Beacon Division of Harthill Wapentake may be deemed as a suburb of Hull; thus taken, the Population of Hull amounts to 46,426 inhabitants. This is the more necessary to be here stated, because the Trades and Handicrafts of Sculcoates are, for the sake of comparison with other large towns, included in the Specification of Hull at the end of the County. A part of White Fryers Ward has been converted into a Dock, hence the decrease of Population (400 Persons)
• Note k - The Entire Parish of Kirk-Ella contains 974 inhabitants and 4,390 acres, including the whole of Anlaby Township which is partly in Hessle Parish. Willerby Township is partly in Cottingham Parish (Hunsley Beacon Division of Harthill Wapentake) and the Population so entered, though not distinguished in the Return.
• Note l - The Entire Parish of North Ferriby contains 823 inhabitants and 3,760 acres.
• Note m - In the Parish of Hessle 40 men are employed in the Stone Quarries.
