Milnes Unit Battery

The "Milnes Unit" is a Rechargeable Nickel-Iron (NiFe) 120volt High Tension Battery (shown with the top cover removed).
For Charging, the cells are switched to 24 banks, each of 4 cells in parallel. These cell banks could then be re-charged from a 6 volt Lead-Acid accumulator.
On Discharge, the 96 cells are connected in series to provide the required 120volts.
The "Milnes Unit" is the type of Battery that would have been used with the R1084 Ground Radio Receiver.
