On the lectern is a brass plate, which reads:

“Presented to All Saints Church Renhold by Rosa Leigh Spencer in memory of her father Leigh Spencer MA AD 1887”

The lectern was first used on 10th July 1887

Leigh Spencer was Vicar of Renhold from 1859 to 1886

Usually resting on the Lectern is an Authorised Version of the Bible, printed in 1879. It was presented to the Church by A. C. D. Blaydes Esq. in 1886 (an F. A. Blaydes was Mayor of Bedford in 1895)
