"STUNTNEY, a chapelry in the parish of Ely Holy Trinity, city of Ely, hundred of Ely, and Isle of Ely, county Cambridge, 1½ mile south-east of Ely, its post town. The village is situated about half a mile from the river Ouse. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Ely, value £150, in the patronage of the dean and chapter. Cromwell lived at the rectory in 1637.
