The place:
A parish town, in the wapentake of Buckrose; 3½ miles from Malton, 9 from
Sledmere, 14½ from Pocklington, 18 from York. Population 280. The Church
is a rectory, dedicated to St. Andrew, in the deanery of Buckrose.
