"DUNNINGTON, a parish in the wapentake of Ouse and Derwent, and liberty of St. Peters; (the seat of J. Mortimer Baines, Esq.) 4 miles E. of York. The high road here divides the East from the North Riding, the church (see Churches for photograph), of which the Earl of Bridgewater is the patron, and the Rev. Edward Jones the rector, is dedicated to St Nicholas; here is also a Methodist chapel Pop. 551."
