"SCRAYINGHAM, a parish in the wapentake of Buckrose, 10 miles NE. of York. The parish church is a small structure (see Churches for photograph), dedicated to St Peter, and the living, which is a rectory in the gift of the King, is enjoyed by the Rev. Stuart Corby Pop. 157"

"GALLY GAP, a farm house in the parish of Scrayingham, and wapentake of Buckrose; 2½ miles NE. of Scrayingham, 6 miles SSW. of Malton. Pop. included with Howsham."

"HOWSHAM, in the parish of Scrayingham, and wapentake of Buckrose; (Howsham Hall, the seat of Charles Cholmley, Esq.); 1¾ miles NNE. of Scrayingham, 8 miles SSW. of Malton. Pop. 225."

"LEPPINGTON, in the parish of Scrayingham, and wapentake of Buckrose; 2 miles ENE. of Scrayingham, 8 miles S. of Malton. Pop. 129. The Grange House is occupied by William Atkinson, Esq."
