"SKERNE, a parish in the wapentake of Harthill; 2½ miles SSE. of Driffield. The church living here is a perpetual curacy, in the patronage of R. Arkwright, Esq. and the Rev. Thomas Ibbotson is the incumbent. Pop. 251."
