"BOWLAND, (or Bolland) a parish in the county of Lancashire."


"BORHOLME, a farm-house in the township of Bowland Forest, lower, and parish of Bowland, (Lanc.) liberty of Staincliffe; 8 miles NW. of Clitheroe. A bridge here, called Borholme Bridge, across the river Hodder, connects this county with Lancashire."
