CRT Indicating unit Type 32

This indicating unit is used for presenting the main radar responses, either as Y-deflection ("blips") upon a linear horizontal timebase trace ('A' scan) when presenting radar Type 14, or 15, or as intensity modulation upon an elevation scan as in radar Type 13.

Originally to switch between 'A' scan and elevation scan required moving two links behind a panel underneath the unit. On this unit at the museum, a switch is fitted to allow quick switching between the two modes.

The CRT is a 12 inch blue electrostatic type.
