The Ancient Parish of BEVERLEY

[Transcribed information mainly from the early 1820s]

"BEVERLEY, a market town and borough in the wapentake of Harthill and the liberty of Beverley;(the several parishes of St. John, St. Mary, St. Nicholas, and St. Martin), 9 miles NNW. of Hull, 10 from South Cave, 10 from Market Weighton, 10 from Driffield, and 29 from York.

Because the information about the various parishes of Beverley is generally presented by the various writers intertwined, I have not attempted to separate out the information for these and all the information is presented here within the "Ancient Parish of Beverley" pages (though no such Ancient parish existed). There is nothing on the pages for the Ancient parishes of St. John and St. Nicholas which does not appear on these pages.[Colin Hinson 2009]" (There is further information for Beverley).

Information on the following places in this Parish is contained on a supplementary page.
  • Aike
  • Beverley Parks
  • Eske
  • Grove Hill
  • Hull Bridge
  • Molescroft
  • Stork Hill
  • Thearne
